By using ResearchBuddy AI, you confirm you are at least 18 years old or have parental consent, and you accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines we provide. We may update these Terms periodically; continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.

2. Description of Service

ResearchBuddy AI offers a virtual lab where researchers can connect, collaborate, and leverage AI tools to enhance research productivity. Features include data analysis, paper drafting assistance, and community networking. We aim to empower users globally, including in regions with limited resources, like Bangladesh.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 or have legal guardian consent to use the Service. By registering, you affirm you have the authority to enter this agreement and comply with applicable laws, including the Bangladeshi ICT Act 2006.

4. Accounts and Security

  • You may need to create an account to access full features. Keep your login credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately at support@researchbuddy.tech if you suspect unauthorized use.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.

5. User Content

  • You may upload research data or content (“User Content”). You retain ownership but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and process it to provide the Service.
  • Ensure your User Content complies with laws and does not infringe on others’ rights. We may remove content violating these Terms or the Cyber Security Act.
  • We are not liable for User Content accuracy or third-party use unless caused by our negligence.

6. Payment and Subscriptions

  • Some features may require payment. Pricing is available on our website, and payments are processed securely.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled. You can manage or cancel via your account settings.
  • Refunds are subject to our discretion and applicable consumer laws, including the Consumer Right Protection Act 2009.

7. Intellectual Property

ResearchBuddy AI and its AI tools are our intellectual property. You may use the Service only as permitted. You may not reverse-engineer, copy, or distribute our software without consent.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for illegal activities or to harass others.
  • Upload malware or violate data protection laws.
  • Attempt to access unauthorized areas of the platform.

Violations may lead to account termination and legal action under the Cyber Security Act.

9. Limitation of Liability

We provide the Service “as is” and disclaim warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect damages (e.g., lost research) unless caused by gross negligence. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms. You may discontinue use at any time by deleting your account. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, but prior agreements (e.g., payment obligations) remain.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. Disputes will be resolved in Dhaka courts, respecting the ICT Act 2006 and other applicable regulations.
